Prevention Solutions@EDC has created several new services to support states and communities in addressing three pressing topics: racial and health inequity, opioid misuse and overdose, and evaluation design and delivery.
Through its Innovation Learning Lab, PS@EDC works closely with states to support local prevention programs to develop and evaluate innovative overdose prevention interventions.
This presentation describes four national emerging drug trends—the shift from prescription pain relievers to heroin and fentanyl use, the rising availability and use of cocaine, the re-emergence of methamphetamine, and the continued expansion of cannabis legalization—and how these trends require a shift in prevention tactics.
Through our Community Opioid Collaborative, PS@EDC works with states to identify and create the constellation of supports that communities need to establish and sustain cross-sector approaches to reducing opioid misuse and overdose, identify communities ready to engage in these approaches, and support these communities in moving this work forward.
