Our Session
Community Readiness: The Key to Effective Local Suicide Prevention
Nov 21, 2:35-4pm, Room 204A-B
This interactive workshop will use EDC’s Community-Led Suicide Prevention (CLSP) Toolkit to empower communities to understand community readiness, how to assess it among diverse segments of their community, and how to use that information to take their community to the next level of comprehensive and evidence-informed suicide prevention efforts. Participants will learn key stages and resources related to community readiness assessments for local suicide prevention programming and will have the chance to apply what they learn to their own local efforts.
EDC's Zero Suicide team will also be presenting at IASP
CLSP Model
EDC’s Community-Led Suicide Prevention (CLSP) aims to help communities strengthen their suicide prevention efforts. EDC’s free online Community-Led Suicide Prevention Toolkit provides resources that any local community can use. The model gives suicide prevention groups the tools they need to strengthen the 7 key elements of evidence-informed, equitable, and sustainable CLSP efforts. EDC currently works with states and community groups around the United States to implement the model and build local capacity for suicide prevention efforts.
