The AMSR-Outpatient Training workshop prepares health and behavioral healthcare providers working in outpatient treatment settings to provide confident and empathetic treatment to patients at risk of suicide.

The AMSR-Outpatient Training will prepare you to use the AMSR risk formulation in outpatient care settings, such as mental or behavioral health centers or primary care offices.

Outpatient Curriculum

Over 47,000 people died by suicide in the U.S. each year. Outpatient mental health professionals play a critical role in the identification, assessment, and long-term management of suicide risk among their clients.

Research-informed curriculum

Certificate & Credits

A certificate of completion will be available after the submission of the post-training survey. 

Participants who complete the Outpatient training are eligible for 6.5 continuing education credits. Zero Suicide Institute at EDC is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Zero Suicide Institute maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Zero Suicide Institute is also approved to sponsor continuing education by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (CA BBS), New York State Education Department Board of Social Work (NYSED), and National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
