Lauren Gilman
Lauren Gilman, a highly skilled technical assistance specialist and experienced program manager, has extensive knowledge of mental health promotion, behavioral health, school-based initiatives, substance misuse prevention, youth violence prevention, cultural responsiveness, and mentoring. Drawing on her health communications and capacity-building expertise, Gliman helps community organizations and school districts bridge research and practice, implement and sustain evidence-based programs, strengthen cross-sector collaboration, and use data-driven planning to achieve systems change.
Gilman’s integrated approach to advancing substance misuse prevention and social-emotional learning emphasizes interconnected risk and protective factors and fosters collaboration at the community level. A certified prevention specialist and expert trainer, she is adept at facilitating virtual and in-person meetings. Her background as an interpreter for Spanish-speaking immigrants and as a school counselor for high-risk Latino youth demonstrates Gilman’s bilingual and multicultural skills. These skills bring a unique cultural perspective to her work with schools, community organizations, and youth-serving programs.
Gilman holds a BA from Swarthmore College, an MA in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University, and a Certificate in Medical and Legal Interpretation from Bentley College.
