About the Session
Often strategies for implementing social/emotional learning and suicide prevention are treated as distinct areas of practice within our school systems. However, a growing body of research shows that social/emotional skills and mindsets can contribute to the reduction of risk factors and increase protective factors for suicide. EDC’s multitiered school suicide prevention framework provides six components that can help schools implement comprehensive suicide prevention strategies across a multitiered system of supports and intentionally link SEL with suicide prevention efforts.
