Shannon Dial
Dr. Shannon Dial, LMFT has been engaged in mental health service and advocacy since graduating with her Master’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 2005. Over the past 19 years Dr. Dial has worked as a therapist and healthcare administrator in community, private and tribal behavioral health settings.
After graduating from Texas Tech with her PhD in 2014, Dr. Dial served for ten years in tribal leadership at The Chickasaw Nation overseeing integrated behavioral healthcare implementation, Zero Suicide initiatives and one of the first tribal HRSA grants for pediatric mental health. Dr. Dial’s tribal work in integrated care and Zero Suicide has led to numerous partnerships and consultations with tribal and non-tribal systems across the country.
In September 2024, Dr. Dial transitioned into the Associate Director of Community Initiatives role at the Healthy Minds Policy Initiative. Healthy Minds helps policymakers and community leaders advance data-driven strategies to overcome our state’s substance use challenges and meet the mental health needs of all Oklahomans. Dr. Dial continues to serve patients in private practice and as a Zero Suicide consultant to tribes and maintains a place on the Zero Suicide Institute faculty. Dr. Dial resides in Oklahoma City.
