Missouri Behavioral Health Council

​The Missouri Behavioral Health Council enhances access to comprehensive behavioral health care for Missourians by unifying and supporting a statewide network of providers through advocacy, education, and resource development.

 Missouri Behavioral Health Council's (MBHC) network of member agencies throughout the state, provides a comprehensive array of psychiatric and substance abuse treatment services and supports as appropriate for children/adolescents, adults, and senior adults. In addition to supporting the members, the Council develops programs and promotes best practices that improves behavioral health in Missouri anywhere the system and individual meets.

Missouri was one of the first states invited to participate in EDC's Zero Suicide Academy in 2014. Missouri held its first Zero Suicide Academy in 2016 and implemented regular Learning Collaboratives to provide a platform for all Zero Suicide teams to continue networking and learning opportunities. MBHC and DMH continue to support all the Zero Suicide teams in each agency and have encouraged more agencies to participate in the annual academy and Show-Me Zero Suicide Learning Collaborative.
