Description

Applying the Community-Led Suicide Prevention (CLSP) Toolkit in Comprehensive State and Territorial Suicide Prevention Efforts

EDC's National CLSP Academy for State and Territorial Coalitions will provide expert guidance, facilitated teamwork, and structured support for coalitions working to strengthen their implementation of comprehensive, state and territorial suicide prevention efforts.

Participating coalitions will engage in applied learning and team-based planning focused on:

  • State and territorial suicide prevention plan development, implementation, and evaluation
  • Strategies to support local communities in comprehensive suicide prevention efforts
  • Building and sustaining state and territory-wide partnerships that address risk and protective factors for suicide

Coalitions will have a unique opportunity to network, share challenges and successes, and problem-solve with peers dedicated to suicide prevention across the US. Participants will leave the Academy with a customized coalition action plan to strengthen infrastructure, coordination, and impact across their state or territory.

Goal & Objectives

The goal of the National Academy for State and Territorial  Suicide Prevention Coalitions is to strengthen coalitions’ implementation of comprehensive suicide prevention through the Community-Led Suicide Prevention framework.

Participating coalitions will achieve the following academy objectives:

  • Build skills, strategies, and communication in state-level planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Identify concrete actions they can take to support local communities in implementing evidence-based suicide prevention strategies
  • Develop relationships with peer state and territorial suicide prevention coalitions

How To Register

Each state coalition will register as one team. Coalitions are encouraged to have at least 2 people attend the virtual events to maximize impact from the facilitated teamwork time provided throughout the virtual academy. Only one registration should be completed per team. Space will be provided in the registration to list each participating team member.

For registration support and changes, please contact us at solutions@edc.org.

The cost of registration per state coalition is $5,000. Each state coalition is encouraged to have a 2-6 person team be part of the National Academy.

Registration closes on June 30th, 2026 at 6pm ET
