About the Webinar
Join presenter, Wykisha Thomas- McKinney, for the webinar, Missouri Introduction to Zero Suicide, on Wednesday, June 28th from 1:00pm – 2:00pm CDT. In this webinar, you will learn about the Zero Suicide framework and how you can implement it in health and behavioral health care systems to enhance suicide-safe care for the people, families, and communities you serve.
This one-day workshop will introduce participants to the Zero Suicide model including the seven essential elements of suicide care:
- Lead system-wide culture change committed to reducing suicides
- Train a competent, confident, and caring workforce
- Identify patients with suicide risk via comprehensive screenings
- Engage all individuals at-risk of suicide using a suicide care management plan
- Treat suicidal thoughts and behaviors using evidence-based treatments
- Transition individuals through care with warm hand-offs and supportive contacts
- Improve policies and procedures through continuous quality improvement
During this session, health and behavioral health care leaders who have launched Zero Suicide in their systems will describe their initiatives including early results and recommendations for those considering launching this model in their own settings.
